Choosing a Stainless Steel Work Table
The work table is where most kitchen work happens, including cutting, marinating, plating and staging. Stainless steel is the standard because it does not absorb liquids, resists rust and cleans quickly between tasks.
Before you order, decide
- Length and depth: tables are made to size, so measure the space including walkways.
- Height: standard height suits most staff; a different height can reduce strain for particular tasks.
- Top thickness: a heavier gauge top takes chopping and heavy machines without denting.
- Undershelf and backsplash: an undershelf for storage, and a backsplash when the table stands against a wall.
- Add-ons: drawers, a sink cut-out or a lower platform for machines.
Our standard work table has a 16 SWG AISI 304 top with an undershelf, in 4 to 8 foot lengths or made to your size.
