Choosing a Cocktail Bar Station
An under-bar cocktail station is the bartender's workbench: an insulated ice well in the middle, speed rails for bottles, room for glasses and tools, and often a sink or rinser. A well-planned station lets one bartender make drinks quickly without walking around.
Before you order, decide
- Bar length and height: it has to fit under your bar counter, so measure the finished height and depth.
- Ice well size: enough ice for the busiest hour without refilling mid-rush.
- Add-ons: speed rails, bottle wells, blender station, glass rinser and drain boards.
- Plumbing: ice wells and sinks need drains, so plan water and drain points before the bar is built.
